The story of our organization began in 1974 when a young man named Suraj Prakash Jhabak commercialised his mother’s popular recipe for papads (a thin crisp cake, a staple accompaniment in Indian meals). The recipe, immensely liked by the locals in Bikaner gained wide acceptance in rest of the country and became the bedrock for the foundation of our growth.
It took a while before the venture took off, but there has been no looking back since. Our focus on ethics, authentic ingredients and customer service, has brought us a long way. Our first brand, "Suraj” signifies our rise, and has been winning hearts since 1974. What makes our product unique and authentic is limited reliance on mechanization and continued involvement of local rural women who hand-roll each of them with passion. The product and the process amplify our commitment or local employment as well as the rich heritage and vivacity of Bikaner. As we grew, we rolled out more varieties from Mrs. Mohini Devi’s recipes. She continues to advise us on perfecting the combination of spices and grains, and has helped us gain more patrons with new varieties under “NavDurga” and “Kiran” brand.
We take pride in the fact that many of our key associates like Mr. Mahaveer Prashad Swami and Mr. Ugam Singh Sodha have stayed through our journey of more than 20 years. Mr. Sunil, son of Sri Suraj Prakash Jhabak, aims to follow his father's footsteps of focus on authenticity, quality and taste.
We do not see papad as an accompaniment to your main course. We see it as a craft that enhances the pleasure that you must derive from your meals. In your delight, lies the story of our journey
